Accepting applications for violin teacher in summer and school year

Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) seeks a qualified violin instructor with training and experience teaching youth. This is a part-time position teaching individual lessons at the Community Music Center (SE 33rd & Francis), with possible additional site(s) added.  Days and hours of work depend on programs and enrollment. Starting wage is $31.73 - 37.03 per hour depending on education, training, and experience.

The position requires knowledge, and experience in playing and teaching violin in an individual lesson setting, skill in teaching multiple ages and experience levels, excellent communication skills, and ability to be punctual, dependable, and work as part of a team.

Job duties include: developing lesson plans & curriculum related to area of assignment based upon overall program objectives & guidelines; preparing materials for instructing lessons; monitoring participation & evaluating student progress; and consultations with students’ parents/guardians as needed.
