Music, Beats & Sounds camps was a success for our youth participants, counselors, mentors and instructors. After months of planning, weeks of research, development, team building, collaboration and 4 weeks of camps. Campers learned about beat making, recording, experimenting, good fitness habits and financial literacy. Thanks to all the wonderful people that made this possible: campers, parents, @y.o.u.thpdx staff, @cmc_portland staff, @portlandparks staff, @ext.606 instructors. The program will continue during the school year offering classes and mentorship on Tuesday and Thursdays starting in October. Stay tuned for the @portlandparks guide and @y.o.u.thpdx updates.

A powerful quote by Black American civil rights activist and politician John Lewis. The complete quote reads:
“What I try to tell young people is that if you come together with a mission, and it is grounded with love and a sense of community, you can make the impossible possible”.
